Site Improvements
We are committed to creating the best possible resources for troops attending Many Point. As part of our plan we are making efforts to improve our campsites for your troop.Ten Chiefs Improvements
In the Fall of 2008 we enlarged the old Central Commissioner Site to create a new campsite. The new name for this site is Red Cloud.
Location: Between the Powhatan campsite and the Ten Chiefs Fire Ring.
Features: Due to the terrain, the site will have 3 levels on which tents can be placed. Access to the lake with a sandy beach
Capacity: Initially 20 - 25 people.
Buckskin Improvements
In the Fall of 2007 we created a new campsite (Hartman) on the South end of camp. During the Fall of 2008 we improved the terrain of this site.
Location: On the hill directly below the Dining Hall and close to both the Buckskin Beach and Main Beach area (Boating/Fishing Dock).
Features: Based on feedback from troops in 2008, the large central patrol site was expanded and leveled. A second patrol site is located on the east end of the campsite. The west end of the campsite faces the lake.
Future Plans: A permanent latrine will be constructed in the Spring of 2009 and underbrush will be cut on the east end to provide both a better view of the lake as well as a stronger breeze.
