Eagles Nest
Summer Camp is a fantastic time for Scouts to earn Merit Badges as Scouts work towards Eagle Scout. To help this, Many Point offers a program called Eagle's Nest. Eagle's Nest is a program in which Scouts can meet with counselors for Eagle-required merit badges in the evenings during open program and either start or finish up a badge.
Which badges can be worked on?
Each year, we rotate which badges can be worked on. The goal of this is to allow someone to start or finish all Eagle-required badges before they would turn 18 and "age out" of the youth Scouting program.
In 2023, Scouts can work on Citizenship in the World, Family Life, and Hiking.
Could I both start and finish a badge in the same week?
Scouts will need to do a lot of work ahead of camp in order to complete the badge during their camp week. While possible, it will be very difficult and require a lot of time. We recommend instead either starting a badge with us and finding a counselor after you leave to finish it up, or coming to camp with proof of requirements you wish to have signed off so we can mark them as complete. Both starting and finishing a badge will require you to have done a lot of work before coming to camp, at which point in time, it may be best to instead find a counselor who can guide you through the process and assist you in figuring out what you need to do.
How do I sign up?
To sign up, Scouts should express their interest upon arrival to camp with their camp commissioner. From there, each subcamp program director will let the interested Scouts know when to connect with them during free time.
