Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS)

This hands-on program gives new adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a Scout-led troop by teaching many of the practical outdoor skills needed to lead Scouts in the outdoors.

The course covers many of the outdoor skills from the Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks. In addition, the teaching methods, activities, and games model the variety of teaching methods used in effective and engaging Scouting programs.

The IOLS course is a prerequisite for other position specific training courses.
